About Us

Founded by Karen Derrico, a mother of 14 who understands the struggles of children falling behind, A Better Dai provides 3rd-8th grade students with tools, mentorship, and the care they need to thrive. We focus on three key areas.

Targeted academic support in reading and math. We identify each child's unique challenges and provide focused, individualized lessons to strengthen foundational skills. Our approach not only helps students catch up but also builds the confidence and habits they need to excel long-term.

Life skills and creative exploration that inspire confidence and curiosity. Through hands-on projects creative arts projects, children learn problem solving, teamwork, and self-expression in ways that prepare them for life beyond the classroom. These activities help develop resilience, adaptability, and a love for learning.

Community connection to empower both children and families. We partner with parents, local organizations, and community leaders to create a network of support that extends far beyond academics. By fostering strong relationships, we ensure that every family feels valued, informed, and equipped to advocate for their child's success.
